Primary 1
Class Blog

Class Teacher: Aisling Boyhan
SNA's: Karen and Luisa

Hello and welcome to our Primary 1! We are thrilled to have you here and to share our journey of learning, growth, and fun with you.

Primary 1 is a lively classroom with 7 wonderful students. This blog is a space where we will share our projects, activities, successes, and the wonderful moments that make our classroom special. We believe that every student has a story to tell, and we’re excited to share those stories with you.

Our class places a strong emphasis on encouraging social and emotional growth. We push our students to engage with one another and form positive relationships. Circle time, group projects, and play-based learning are just a few of the ways we create a feeling of community and promote collaboration and communication.

In our classroom, we believe that learning should be enjoyable and exciting, particularly for the younger students. We also place a strong emphasis on developing early literacy and numeracy skills. Our curriculum includes engaging activities and games that help our students develop phonics knowledge, reading comprehension, and basic math concepts through play-based activities that are adjusted to meet the needs of individual students. Whether we're counting toys, singing songs, reading vibrant storybooks, or investigating shapes and patterns, we make sure that every activity is enjoyable, accessible and meaningful.

Furthermore, Primary 1 is committed to fostering independence and self-help skills. We encourage our students to take responsibility for their belongings, develop personal hygiene routines, and engage in everyday tasks with guidance and support. By promoting independence, we aim to empower our students and prepare them for future challenges.

In conclusion, every child in our class is respected, encouraged, and praised. We provide a nurturing environment that focuses on the students social and emotional skills, early reading and numeracy abilities, fine and gross motor skills, and the promotion of independence.

We hope you enjoy following along as much as we enjoy sharing our experiences with you!

Warm regards,

Aisling,

Karen and Luisa.
